Damon Shaheen
Damon has played professionally for 20+ years in the Williamsport, PA area. He got his first guitar when he was 12, from his father, and the rest was history.
Damon was influenced by many genres of music growing up from both his mother and father. Rock/Pop, came from his mothers side, and Bluegrass and Country came from his fathers side. Damon's musical influences come from the Beatles, Cheap Trick, Elvis Costello and Prince (believe it or not). His love for the 3 minute and 5 second pop song has never changed. A song that catches you in the first 30 seconds is all he needs with a great melody and huge harmonies.
Past bands include, Circus of Fools-Lead Vocals, Toyz-Bass/Lead
Vocals, and Eclipse-Keyboards/Bass/Backup Vocals, in the late 80's
early 90's. Damon recorded two albums with Rhythm Face singing lead
vocals. After Rhythm Face, Damon looked for a different road. This began what he has done, on and off, for years...playing in acoustic acts such as Damon and Stacey and, most recently, Beauty and The Mess (with his wife Lindsay and Jim Lamey from the current band Bent). The original Poptart Monkeys with Dave, Paul Reddon, Rob Hampton, and Jimmy Lovcik, was the last full-band that he performed in.
Damon now performs, occasionally playing bass or singing when local
artists require a "hired gun" to fill in for a night. He also records
his own music which is currently showcased at:myspace.com/lostcomic1
