Todd Sterner
Todd was born on June 27th, 1972, and raised in Schuylkill Haven, PA. In 1993, he married his beautiful wife, Sabrina, who he refers to as his "Rock".
Todd's parents were very young when he was born so, at the age of 3, he had already had a taste of rock-n-roll. Relatives often told his parents that music was going to be a huge part of his life. He would sit and watch the record player spin and know all the words to the songs by bands his mom and dad were listening to as teenagers! Those bands became huge influences on Todd . Bands such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper and the biggest and greatest band, as far as Todd's concerned, The Beatles. He feels, "If not for the Beatles...Music, not only Rock-n-Roll, would not be what it is today....Musical Genius!" So this interest in music was turned into a passion which, at the age of 10, led him to start taking guitar lessons.
Through the years, different styles and gimmicks amazed Todd. But, when he sits and listens to his original recordings and the songs that stick in his head the most, he can't deny that much of his playing style comes from the old school...Jimmy Page, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Angus Young, with a flare of Toni Iommi and Zakk Wylde.
During his career, Todd played in some high school garage bands while "learning the ropes" but the 4 projects he is most proud of are Oh Ruby (In the early 90's), then on to Psycho Bettie (Early 2000), Yada Yada Yada (2007-2008) and his side project, Wonton, with whom he has been making original recordings for the past ten years. Todd states, "I still have a lot of rock-n-roll left in me, as long as health permits and the people keep supporting whatever band I'm in!"
Dave's note: Todd is too modest to mention it, but he is a true miracle. The man has been through so much with his health, including a lung transplant, stomach surgery, and a subsequent "botched" operation which led to the temporary paralyzation of both of his arms. Yet, to look at him up on stage still rockin' & rollin' as strong as ever, you would never guess it. And you never hear him complain. Todd is a true inspiration.
